The Spider-Man: Homecoming’s sequel has finally been given a title; Spider-man: Far From Home, and it has multiple meanings. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man again made his debut in Captain America: Civil War, fans were thrilled by his performance. His solo movie was also a big hit, so Sony and Marvel wasted no time in announcing the possibility of a sequel. Fans were guessing on what the title of the sequel could ultimately be and eventually, the actor appeared to “leak” the title yesterday. Although, it wasn’t clear if it was a joke or legit, but it turns out it is true.
Fans will be excited to hear that filming for Spider-Man: Far From Home is scheduled to kick off in two weeks Screen Rant spoke to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige this weekend and asked him about the sequel’s reported title, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Feige confirmed the title and that filming would start soon.
“You know, I don’t want to talk too much about it. It’s very early days. We’re filming soon. We are filming. We will be based in London as we’ve done with many of our films for that one. We like that it ties into the title Homecoming, we like that. We like that the way Homecoming, there are multiple meetings.”
Spider-Man: Far From Home, aside from the return of key characters and its international backdrop, regards some updated casting. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal had been in talks to play Mysterio, a classic Spider-Man villain who is going to be making his debut appearance in the sequel. The movie is scheduled to be released next year as production is set to start later this summer.
